Fight Night - Clementine vs. Clemintine Auckland Show Announced

Aotearoa's live music community has been operating in a state of utter confusion lately, with near-identical monikers sported by cc(tv) / CCTV (no relation to the US egg-punk band), indie-rockers The Fan Club / the local pop legends of the same name, two concurrent projects called Pash (!?), and possibly the prime offenders: Clementine from Tāmaki Makaurau and Clemintine from Ōtepoti – neither groups to be confused with Flying Nun dream duo Clementine Valentine! It is all enough to make a music editor's head spin, don't even get me started on the Transistors / Transistor situation from a few years ago (now thankfully resolved).

Clementine and Clemintine are nobly hanging a lantern on the whole mixed-up scenario, finally colliding for a good-natured "musical brawl" in the super city at Small Gods Taproom on 10th May, urged on by Lipstick Cherry and Community Treatment Order. That's not all — Clemintine (from Ōtepoti) are playing a headline gig the night before at 605 Morningside with The Ideas, while Clementine (from Tāmaki) are supporting special guests from Te Papaioea Sports Dreams also at 605, a couple of weeks earlier on 26th April with Beth Torrance. Be right back, I'm starting up a new project named "The Dead C"...

"From Dunedin, Clemintine are coming to Auckland to make a great big racket and they've challenged the local (more correctly spelled) Clementine to an all out musical brawl! Lipstick Cherry and Community Treatment Order are set to join them for a raucous night of musical pugilism, duking it out with uppercut drums, nose bleed guitars and body blow bass where the only true winner will be you the audience member".
