Misheard Records presents:
SPORTS DREAMS (Te Papaioea/Palmerston North)
with support from Beth Torrance and Clementine.
Despite being relatively quiet on the release front since the release of their 2022 SRN Award nominated EP 'Weather Admitting', emo-pop duo Sports Dreams has spent the first half of the decade blessing the lower half of Te Ika-a-Māui with live displays of their melancholic electronica.
Consisting of vocalist/guitarist Shannen Georgia Petersen (Fruit Juice Parade, Welcomer, Khaki Department) and synthesist/multi-instrumentalist Fraser Williams (First Move, Asbestos Man), Sports Dreams captures a nostalgic image of small town Aotearoa, merging digital soundscapes and drum machines with captivatingly sad lyrics and layers of comforting, reverb-drenched guitars.
Returning to Tāmaki Makaurau for the first time since their EP release tour in 2022, Sports Dreams will bring their waiata to 605 Morningside Drinkery on Saturday, the 26th of April. Come early to hear the intimate indie folk of Beth Torrance and the stripped-back screams of emo band Clementine.
