Listen to Cameron McCurdy's New Single 'Comfortable?'
Playing at this Saturday's Queer Autumn alternative / queer punk extravaganza as part of Auckland Pride Festival, Cameron McCurdy's 'Comfortable?' is a dynamite lead cut from her forthcoming album Empathy for My Future Self. The trans musician, comics maker, animator and former K M T P / Makeshift Parachutes / Deryk / Blu Fish drummer's new song crams a whole lot into a snappy two and a half minutes, and effectively so. Booming low end, stadium-scale synths and gripping guitar hooks intermesh with poetic and ribald vocal musings on personal growth. Catch McCurdy with full band ripping through 'Comfortable?' plus lots more at Whammy Bar, alongside an all-star cast — brought to you by Misheard Records...
"On the 8th of February I sat down to practice my set for a gig, and accidentally wrote and recorded this song. 'Comfortable?' is the first single from 'Empathy for My Future Self', my first album since 2020, and first album as a trans woman".
