The formidably talented trio of Brendan Moran, Stephen Reay (both of avoid!avoid) and Jared Johanson (The Subliminals), Vor-stellen today unveil their debut album Parallelograms via Flying Nun Records. Sprawling across two slabs of impeccably designed double vinyl (one track per side), the group lay down precise diagrammatic patterns of guitar (both clear and fried), chugging bass, motorik percussion, textural electronics and haunting vocal utterances like some kind of collaborative sonic 3D printer — constructing four immersive, vividly realised sculptural sound worlds each clocking in at over ten minutes. They've shared a sublimely minimal visualiser for their sixteen minute epic 'Voyager' (watch below) and are soon playing a hometown launch gig at Tāmaki Makaurau's The Wine Cellar, with Guardian Singles and Ducklingmonster.
