Stream Carnivorous Plant Society's Single 'The Baby'
The multi-talented Finn Scholes and his musical collaborators in Carnivorous Plant Society are close to wrapping up an absolutely humungous nationwide tour, which has seen the Tāmaki Makaurau five-piece perform their fantastical tunes in such wide-ranging locations as Gore, Mapua, Paeroa and Waipawa. The group are concluding their travels with a very special trio of events in Wellington and Auckland celebrating not only the launch of their new album The People Below, but also a graphic novel of the same name created by Scholes. They've ramped up excitement for the twin-pronged release even further with their dreamily playful yet probing new single 'The Baby', showcasing lead vocals by the band's Cass Basil (Tiny Ruins) who also produced the track.
Finn Scholes opened up about conceptual yin and yang motivating the creation of 'The Baby', stating via social media "The Baby is about society’s pressure on people to have children. It simultaneously asks, 'why do you want a baby?', while also asking 'why don’t you want a baby?'
