Gig Information

Happy New Zealand Music Month, come celebrate the last day of the New Zealand Music Month of May at Underworld Tavern with the all Kiwi sounds of Number 8 Wireless, Rain and the Urban Bohemians and This Silent Divide.

Number 8 Wireless

Number 8 Wireless are a hard-rocking four piece from Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington New Zealand. We have been serving up all-original and distinctly-local sounds since our inception in 2012. We deliver an array of guitar driven rock, funk and pop tunes that draw inspiration from diverse musical influences - but in a way that is very much grounded in Aotearoa New Zealand and says something about Kiwis and our place in the world.

Rain and the Urban Bohemians

Wellington folk-rock band Rain and the Urban Bohemians are the dream weavers, threading their many influences and styles together to create a little bit of magic.
The music is an urban-bohemian celebration of life, love, and longing. Their dynamic set will take you from catchy dance-beat pop, right through to emotional and heart-wrenching rock ballad. And lots of weird stuff in between.
Spiritual undertones and overtones weave deftly through the lyrics, peppering the loom with contemplations of our existence and the fleetingness of time, while overall remaining joyful and uplifting, proving that something good can indeed come out of our deepest humanity.

This Silent Divide

Wellington rock band This Silent Divide mix driving drums, wall-of-sound guitars and melodic overtones to create catchy, high-energy songs.
Fresh from recording a new EP in March, the band have a new single out in June and are looking forward to debuting a bunch of new songs live at the Underworld Tavern show.
Past singles 'In This World', 'Outside', and 'Beautiful Creature' received positive reviews and radio play in New Zealand, the US & UK.
Flash-Trax labelled ‘In This World’ a deep, precisely executed performance I have
learned to expect from this band...putting me in mind of early Shihad or Weta”.
