Gig Information

Tūpiki' by Abigail Aroha Jensen and Riki Pirihi is an extraordinary album inspired by Maui's journey to climb the 12 steps to heaven, featuring a tantalising blend of taonga pūoro, percussion and electronics, it transcends genres and easy descriptions. To celebrate it's release on vinyl through Audio Foundation Records on Saturday 29 March we're having a party at Acho's featuring some beautiful friends and a special shot designed with love by Aroha herself!

Hasji makes Urban Gorge - attempting to speak to the base rhythms and peace that are tucked away in the overstimulated structures of city lifestyles. Through this Hasji aims to promote sonic rongoā, cultivated thru an awareness of the relationship between ecological urgency and urban anxiety, and a continued kinship with our maunga of many forms.

Waiwhai

WAIWHAI brings the fluid rhythms and melodies of ngā taonga puoro me te ao electronica by way of sonic ancestors such as Milford Graves, Sun Ra and Hirini Melbourne. Walking backwards into the future, forever and never. Mauri ora.
