There Are No More Four Seasons (Sweden)

“...from the ashes, something wholly new is created. It's as if the melancholy violin rises from the ruins and, like a postapocalyptic Mad Max, dusts himself off to continue towards new adventures. At that moment I refuse to believe all the predictions that classical music is withering away. (Johanna Paulsson, Dagens Nyheter, about the project reBiber)

There are no more four seasons is the name of a duo comprised of electronic musician Mattias Petersson and classical violinist George Kentros. They take older pieces of music and recompose them in order to once again become relevant to our times. They are also quite the live band, playing everything from rock festivals to concert halls, as well as conducting workshops for conservatories and musically inclined youths. Their self-titled debut CD was named one of the ten best classical recordings of the past decade by Sweden’s biggest daily paper Dagens Nyheter, and Time Out New York called them a must see concert, writing that ”the result fits together more perfectly than any Ikea bookshelf.”

Mattias Petersson
Mattias Petersson was born in 1972 on an island off the southeast coast of Sweden. His musical career began with piano studies but nowadays he works as a composer and plays electronic instruments. He works mostly within the realm of experimental electronic music and sound art, but he has also been involved in more pop-like projects as an arranger, composer, producer and musician.

George Kentros
The experimental violinist George Kentros has performed as a chamber musician, soloist, and sometime actor across Europe as well as in the US, Central America, Japan, and Oceania, He has specialized in the newest of new art music, and has to date commissioned more than 200 works by composers from 21 countries.

In 1999 he founded the Stockholm based avantgarde art club SEKT, which was a pioneer in the presentation of genre-crossing alternative art expressions, and has since expanded his practice towards works on thé border of sound art, collaborating closely with artists such as Kaffe Matthews and Vinyl -terror & -horror.
