Chart-topping singer-songwriters combine forces for a unique acoustic set this summer…
Auckland show = Friday 17 January from 8pm at Small Gods Taproom, Eden Terrace.
Sean Cunningham, former frontman for band Atlas (2005 – 2009), returns to Aotearoa this January.
Arriving into Auckland, who better to help Sean kick off this antipodean ‘homecoming’ than acclaimed singer-songwriter and industry mentor Rodney Fisher.
Like Sean, Rodney is another early noughties frontman, from successful alt-pop rock outfit Goodshirt. Rodney’s latest album release “Art School Drop-out”, recorded with Christchurch duo The Response, has been embraced by audiences drawn to its atmosphere of introspection and nostalgia.
Their set at Small Gods will be a very special musical experience, extremely limited tickets, ensuring a bespoke intimate show.
Sean’s New Zealand return will see him visiting the places and people that played an important part in his life during those hectic Atlas years. In between these private reunions will be gigs in small intimate venues dotted across the North and South Islands.
Best known as frontman for band Atlas (2005-2008), with their chart-topping single 'Crawl' still the longest-running number one hit in Kiwi history. Sean has been living and developing his craft as a solo artist on stages across Europe and North America from his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
His first visit to his second home, Aotearoa, coincides with the release of his 2024 solo album and title track ‘Whatever that is’.
“I couldn’t be more excited to return to Aotearoa after so many years and with these shows I truly get a unique, intimate opportunity to share my stories through both new songs and old familiar favourites.” – Sean Cunningham
Join Sean and Rodney for a special night of songs, old and new at Auckland’s urban beer garden in the heart of Eden Terrace (behind the powerstation) – Small Gods Taproom.
