Gig Information

Stay up late with City Gallery Wellington! Enjoy our changing programme of art, music, film, and talks on the first Thursday of every month.

Keep your summer nights going with March Open Late. Enjoy poets and pinch pots, live music, and an exhibition tour, along with your first chance to see Reuben Paterson: The Only Dream Left after hours.

Journey through SOUR GRAPES with a late night tour, or get up close and personal with Art Encounter - for this special edition, we will inspect Emily Hunt’s Hand of Sabazius (2015) which recalls the mysterious cult of Sabazius.

Find shelter in poetry as we celebrate artist Ana Iti and her practice. Extending the poetic inherent to Iti's work, we have invited a group of poets to offer their voices and responses to the exhibition.

Join us for an intimate performance by violinist and composer Motte. Using violin, sampled sound, synth and voice, Motte creates a world that is solely her own. Riding the thin line between beauty and devastation, she weaves together a richly textured world that will cast you gently adrift, floating deep in a ocean of sound.

Throughout the evening, get stuck in with Clay Working and make your very own ceramic pinch pot. We’ll show you how to work the clay by hand and create a unique vessel of your own to take away and treasure.

All this along with our regular fixtures; Tuatara beers, delicious wine, food truck and sounds from a RadioActive DJ.
