JessB hasn't left fans hanging following the launch of her monumental debut album FEELS LIKE HOME, a multi-faceted exploration of "the different pockets of her identity as a child of the diaspora" as a Kenyan-Aotearoa hip-hop artist, which features fellow rap stars Sampa The Great, Gold Fang, Kranium and Jamaican dancehall legend Sister Nancy. The powerhouse rapper is treating fans to release events on both sides of the Tasman, playing headline ragers in Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke, Ōtautahi, Tāhuna / Queenstown, Naarm / Melbourne, Warrane / Sydney and Meeanjin / Brisbane in November and early December. Co-founder of pioneering QTPOC club collective FILTH (hosts of Boiler Room's debut Aotearoa broadcast in '21), you already know these parties will be legendary. Celebrate JessB's new era at the following dates — brought to you by Madcap and Rulial...
"It wasn't ever about what the music sounded like - it wasn't like I was naming it that because of the music. FEELS LIKE HOME can mean so many different things. I think its about feeling at home with where you're at, where you've come from, and where you're going. So it's kind of like a past, present, future thing - where it's constantly moving and changing.
What was home to me five years ago when I started making music, and what I did, and how I presented, doesn't necessarily feel like home anymore. Its about what FEELS LIKE HOME means in terms of my career as a musician, and finding my sound, and then also FEELS LIKE HOME in terms of growing as a person and finding my people. I'm a cancer, too, so home is really important to me literally as well. Family is extremely important to me, and the idea of having a literal home to come home to that is safe for family and friends, and to share space and love with".
