Tour Information
The Oscar Garvie Quartette is coming to undercurrent to swing your socks off. This is the first time a new set of original music composed by Oscar will be debuted. Inspired by the likes of Coltrane, Art Blakey and Elvin Jones, the music takes aspects of the colour, and spirituality expressed by Trane, and provides an exciting twist influenced by the star line-up of the band.

Oscar Garvie is a drummer whose primary objective is to swing. He’s spent hours studying the music of Elvin Jones and Art Blakey. His new compositions are a peek into what he’s envisioning for his upcoming endeavours.

Isaac Randel is a tenor saxophonist heavily inspired by the post-Trane generation of saxophonists. He plays frequently across Wellington at a myriad of venues and is known for “being a beast and ripping the fattest solos”

Jacob Hurst is a double bass player regarded for his creativity and his ability to adapt. He’ll be holding it all down like a kid holding some candy.

Logan Heppell is a pianist who’s known for being highly responsive in his playing, whilst innovating and being receptive. His unique approach provides a lush platform for the band to spring off.
