Mondogreen Day Trip Ep Release Party (w/ Support From Shooless)

Hot on the tender heels of the upcoming release of their debut EP, Day Trip, Mondogreen will take the stage on the 23rd of May at Whāingaroa's top local musical hotspot, The Yard Bar & Cafe, with support from Tāmaki Makaurau's newly-appointed favourites, SHOOLESS.

Like a Mexican street chef undertaking Italian pasta-making classes at night to expand his recipe book, Mondogreen has been hungrily dedicating the last two and a half years to expanding their musical palate, discovering their preferred tonal flavours, upgrading the tools in their kitchen and developing a repertoire of freshly made tunes served red-hot with an ice cold Waikato. The resulting dish is a culmination of multiple cuisines that is still distinctly Kiwi - spicy Latin-inspired rhythms, reggae-injected grooves, chill melodic lines and guitar-heavy notes of slinky indie rock riffs and psychedelic shoegaze - specially designed with the sole purpose of removing backs from walls and giving the cleaners a decent reason to mop the dancefloor each night. With songs that address themes of internal conflict, saudade and anxiety, feverish romance and even serial killers, this show will be perfect for those seeking a mildly-intoxicated boogey with the lads and gals, or to bring your situationship along to finally have that talk about what you both want.

SHOOLESS, hailing from Tamaki Makaurau, is known for their high-energy live shows, haunting melodies, infectious rhythms, and emotionally charged lyrics that captivate audiences wherever they go. Shooless is on a mission to make you feel, in whatever way they can conjure.

Doors open at 7.30 pm, with SHOOLESS systematically dismantling the stage at 8:00 pm before Mondo reassemble it like an IKEA shelf and take it home at 9.00 pm. Tickets can be purchased on door or exclusively through Under The Radar.
