Just Janie / Michael Morris

Just Janie is a folk musician born and raised in the heart of Central Otago, currently residing in Ōtautahi. In 2024, Just Janie released her debut EP 'Muse and Musician', recorded in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Muse and Musician garnered significant success, reaching over half a million streams since the release. 2024 saw Just Janie embark on two nationwide tours: The ‘Love Letter to Myself’ to promote her debut single, with performances at Mussel Inn (Oneka), Space Academy (Christchurch), Movespace (Auckland), and Vogelmorn (Wellington) and ‘The Sylvia Tour’ with Sig Wilder for their double single release ‘Sylvia’ in September 2024.

Michael Morris is a songwriter based in Macandrew Bay, Ōtepoti. Having spent the majority of the last decade releasing albums and touring through New Zealand, Australia and Europe with various projects, he now lives a settled local family life. While currently working on a double album project, producing music for other artists at his Mac Bay recording studio and running the music at The Duck under the name Smokey Room Records, Michael's world is a blissful mix of both music-making and daddy-hood. Michael looks forward to the opportunity of supporting touring artist Just Janie, where he plans to debut a whole set of (so far uncharacteristically) gentle new acoustic songs, which have not yet been released nor recorded.
