Mark Bulos 'FAKE NOSTALGIA' Album Release Show
Auckland musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist Mark Bulos brings his self-produced debut album, FAKE NOSTALGIA to life in a special live performance.
Recent jazz graduate and musician/guitarist in the local scene, Mark Bulos presents a solo project that is a fresh take on various pop aesthetics, mostly inspired by 80s Japanese Citypop/funk, with hints of Asian indie pop, dream pop guitar tones and subtle jazz harmonies. His just-recently-released debut album FAKE NOSTALGIA includes fully self produced/recorded tracks inspired by the likes of Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshiki Kadomatsu, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Cocteau Twins, Prince, Casiopea and many more.
This event will feature a live band bringing these originals and some Japanese city pop covers to life with a lot of energetic arrangements, tight grooves, lush harmonies and improvisation. Featuring a lineup of local legends and jazz graduates in the music scene.
