AIGHT

AIGHT is a new band made up of Andrew Isdale (Katchafire, Reiki Ruawai, Black Comet), Joe Kaptein (Circling Sun, Princess Chelsea, Nathan Haines), and Elijah Whyte (Troy Kingi, Nathan Haines, Foley).

After having played with each other in various musical projects over the years, the freshly-formed power trio came together (with Andrew, usually found with a saxophone in his mouth, slinging an electric guitar; and Joe, usually with a keyboard under his mitts, chugging on an electric bass; and Elijah, usually found playing Metallica riffs on someone else's axe, back behind the drum kit) for some Saturday afternoon gigs down in Raglan, at the Yard, in 2024.

The band (who had now settled on AIGHT as a name for the trio, which is an acronym open to interpretation) then convened in the studio to flesh out some of these Raglan-based impromptu jam ideas, along with some new compositions, into an entirely self-made fresh album. Composed and arranged collectively; and recorded, mixed and mastered by Andrew. This self-titled debut album, AIGHT, is out on the 10th of January 2025.

The first single, 'Hasselblad', is out and available to stick in your ears now, soon to be followed by two more singles, 'The Ninth Brick', and 'Yeah garn then'. AIGHT is playing all of these and more at a LIVE MUSIC CONCERT at the Yard, Raglan, where it all started (but indoors), also on the same day as the album release on the 10th of January.
