Feat. The Crooked Cops & SLIMO (DJ Set)
Stoked to have Whangarei's finest 7-piece super band The Crooked Cops at the MBR Bash. Specialising in reggae and dub grooves, The Crooked Cops blend original tunes with some highly classified cover songs that hit harder than a battering ram. Their music has vocal harmonies so smooth, that it feels like a peaceful protest in the streets, and their rhythm section is tighter than a pair of handcuffs. Reggae shakedowns and general misconduct are expected.
It wouldn't be a boardriders bash without bringing the brother SLIMO back home for a HUGE SEND on the decks! The bro has been M.I.A getting shacked at the Kumara Patch, but is bringing back his good vibes and pumping tunes for the Mangawhai locals. Expect the d-floor to get silly when SLIMO fires up the mixer.
Not only is The Boardriders Bash a chance for everyone to dust off their finest and dance the night away to some epic tunes, but it is also an opportunity to fundraise for a couple of our Mangawhai families who have been doing it tough. After it's all said & done, we'd love to make some donations to help our mates live a better life.
