It's A Hutt Invasion: Rain, Adoneye, Mercy Lie, Solizzyah!

Come and join us on Friday 1st Nov at Moon Bar in Newtown as four fantastic Hutt Valley acts invade the city outskirts to play their original music and wow your senses!!

Mercy Lie kicks off the evening with an immersive and mesmerising solo set, followed by Solizzyah - the stripped-back acoustic version of Araiyah The Band. Then Rain and the Urban Bohemians will delight with their earthy and bohemian folk-rock set. All leading up to the climax of the evening: 2024 Battle of the Bands champions Adoneye will explode onto the stage and show us all what they're made of!

Each one of these acts has a deep and emotional approach to their music, which is evident in their song writing, and their ability to connect with their audience.

Rain & the Urban Bohemians are the dream-weavers, creating a soundscape of life, love, and longing. Created from the threads of singer-songwriter Cathy Elizabeth’s material, woven together with her band members to create an eclectic mix of upbeat and earthy originals in the folk-rock genre. You will find a spiritual aspect stitched through the lyrical content, embellished with contemplations of our existence and the fleetingness of time, and finished with authenticity and joy.

Solizzayah is the acoustic ensemble of Araiyah Te Uawiri, weaving together a rich tapestry of human emotion through music, surrounded by a talented group of musicians. Bringing to life heartfelt melodies and soulful harmonies, drawing inspiration from personal memoirs and cherished memories. With each performance, Solizzyah creates a captivating atmosphere that invites listeners to connect deeply with their own experiences.

Mercy Lie is the musical guise of Laura Chester-Murphy. A soundmaker from an early age, Laura just wants to keep the music rolling. There's a lot of sound from that little acoustic guitar, and a voice to match! In the songs, you will find fierce independance, crushing vulnerability, and a reflective wit that speaks to a life of lessons learned.
