Album Fundraiser: Ivy / Pearly* / The Audio Visual Drop Kicks

Ōtepoti, winter has been harsh. Why not warm both your bones and your ears at U-Bar on the 28th of September, all for a good cause?

Local bands IVY, Pearly* and the Audio Visual Drop Kicks have been hard at work recording their debut albums, set for release in the not-too-distant future. To celebrate, they will be gracing the U-Bar stage, with all sales directly supporting the projects of these upcoming Ōtepoti acts. Doors will be at 9pm.

IVY are an alternative rock band based in Otepoti Dunedin who have quickly cemented themselves as one of Dunedin’s must see acts. After the release of their debut alternative pop single ‘Stranger’ in 2022, IVY have directed their focus towards darker, more complex and brooding tones. The band cleverly combine heavenly, soothing vocals with raw and retro-feeling instrumentation; their music evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and emotion. With numerous releases lined up and a rapidly growing fanbase, IVY are the band everybody has their eyes on.

The Audio Visual Drop Kicks: four-piece, Ōtepoti-based indie/alternative rock outfit. Active since the early Twenties, the Kicks are ecstatic to bring you their upcoming album, brimming with delectable jams and slow burns alike!

Pearly* are a new Ōtepoti trace/untrace alt rock band, whose music fits somewhere between emo and NYC’s garage rock revival.
