Tour Information
The Cosmic Consortium | MACHINE AS HERO | The vital hardware ingredient

Join us as we approach the Great Mystery via dynamic oscillations of spectral sound waves.
Featuring MOTTE, SONYA WATERS and DREAM CHAMBERS performing electro-acoustic improvisations and compositions using loads of electronic music hardware.

MOTTE
Anita Clark is a violinist, composer and producer, based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, NZ.
Performing under the moniker MOTTE as her solo persona, she primarily uses violin, sampled sound/field recordings, synthesizer and voice to create richly textured sound beds to convey otherworldly landscapes and preternatural impressions.
She has released three solo albums since 2015, 'Songs For Movies' -self released/Melted Icecream, 'Strange Dreams' -CocoMuseRecords and 'Cold + Liquid' -BaDaBing! Records.
Anita composes music for film, theatre, movement and dance, notably producing work for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the NZ Dance Company, Movement of the Human (MOTH), Movement Art Practice (MAP) and COLOSSAL. Anita’s first short film soundtrack for ‘Shadows’ (AUS/SUI) was premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2019, and her feature length score for NZ documentary ‘Building Bridges - Bill Youren’s Vision Of Peace’ was awarded 'Outstanding Excellence for Original Score’ from Docs Without Borders Film Festival and was featured in the NZ Film Festival 2023.
Currently she is a member of Don McGlashan and the Others, The Phoenix Foundation, the Luke Buda band and The Perms.

SONYA WATERS
Sonya Waters is a solo synth artist playing meditative soundtracks for imaginary films.
Her music is underpinned by lush layers of synth orchestration crisscrossed with tessellations of West Coast Moog and vocoder vocals. Semi-modular cutups build into rich textural soundscapes reminiscent of 1960-70s British TV themes, old library music, and the mysterious drones of Folk Horror.
Sonya has performed with different bands and explored several musical pathways over her long career. Her current work explores the hauntology of synth music, delving into the past to find memories of a future that never existed.

DREAM CHAMBERS
Jess Chambers is a composer, musician, and educator currently based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington and working under the moniker Dream Chambers.
From her beginnings as a folk singer to her current explorations in electronic music she experiments with sound as a practice of attention: to a room, an outer world, an inner feeling. Weaving textures of modular synthesisers, voice, and deep intuition – she crafts gorgeous movements that refract natural patterns and brim over toward the ineffable to create a sound described by the Nashville Scene as “Full of warm, organic emotion, alternating between tuneful musicality and raw, spiritual fervor.”
