Gays For The Greens
info_outline This tour has been.
Come and join the Greens with Julie Anne Genter in the Rongotai electorate’s very own Moon for a night of wicked fun drag from Allikins, Frida People, and Vixen Temple.
Dance the night away afterwards with our DJ Jimmy Watson from High Ambition.
Allikins is a non binary, New Zealand, queer variety performer specialising in cabaret/musical theater. They are Aotearoa's first and current reigning drag monster. They are also Wellington drag’s performer of the year runner up.
Frida People is a drag king who's not afraid to ruffle some feathers be in on stage or on the steps of parliament
Vixen Temple uses performance art as a way to connect to The Dark Goddess and Divine Feminine. At her core, Vixen Temple is a witch whose rituals focus on exploring trauma from her personal life through art. By doing this, she hopes to embrace her shadow self in order to unleash emotions that society often tells us (especially those who are socialised as women) to suppress. Her aim is to inspire her spectators (especially those who feel like an outcast in our Patriarchal society) to worship themselves, embrace their shadow work and explore inner child healing. When we heal ourselves, we can come together as a collective to tear down oppressive intuitions such as misogyny, capitalism, white supremacy, whorephobia, ableism, transphobia etc. She hopes to destroy all narratives and ideologies that serve to maintain the patriarchy. Burn The Patriarchy!
Friday 2nd June, doors from 9pm
$20 waged / $10 unwaged
Julie-Anne Genter is running to be your local MP, because she believes that Rongotai can be a place where everyone has healthy affordable homes, and reliable climate-friendly transport. The same kind of leadership has only gotten us so far. Let's bring real change to Rongotai!
