Listen: Dudley Benson - Pipiwharauroa ISO12 Remix (UTR Premiere)
In anticipation of the release of his remix album Deforestation, Dudley Benson is premiering the ISO12 reimagining of his track 'Pīpīwharauroa', which is the Maori name for the shining cuckoo. The track originally was released as part of Benson's brilliant 2010 offering Forest: Songs by Hirini Melbourne, but recent efforts have seen all seven tracks re-imagined by artists from New Zealand, as well as Japan, Germany and the States. 'Pipiwharauroa' has been given the remix treatment by reclusive ISO12, a Dunedin-based electronic producer, who is also one half of the duo Murderbike. Take a listen below, and keep an eye out for Deforestation which will be available on 12-inch vinyl, CD, and as a digital download with all profits going towards the Ulva Island Charitable Trust, the caretakers of the bird sanctuary on the islet located in the mouth of Stewart Island...
After selling out tickets to his show at the Audio Foundation on Saturday 1st November, Dudley Benson has announced a second show on Sunday 2nd November at the Auckland institution. Head over here for more information.
