Live Photos: Gary Numan - The Studio, Auckland

The oft-billed Godfather of Electronic Music took to the stage in Auckland on Friday night, amid much anticipation following the recent release of his highly acclaimed album Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind). California-based Gary Numan has made plain his love for touring and had prepared a powerful set that saw the 56-year-old pour himself into songs not only from his most recent album, but also tracks from across his lengthy career including, of course, his most recognisable cut 'Cars'. Solo synth siren Lttle Phnx opened the show with a set of electronic darkwave, before Numan took the stage shortly after 9pm.
