Pentagram (US) Debut New Zealand Tour Announced

Absolute legends of US heavy metal, Pentagram are at last journeying down under this coming August for their first ever tour of Aotearoa New Zealand. First formed in 1971 and still fronted by Bobby Liebling, Pentagram's self-titled debut studio album (aka Relentless) didn't emerge until 1985 and their unholy status has since grown to immense proportions, regularly cited as key originators of what we now know as doom metal alongside Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Trouble.

A hugely influential figure who has been described as "very much the US version of Ozzy Osbourne, but without the money or sustained success," Liebling has unexpectedly become a viral sensation in recent times as unnerving master of 'The Ghoul Stare', introducing Pentagram's bone-crunching riffs to a new generation of fans. Pentagram is an American doom metal band from Alexandria, Virginia. They are noted as one of the pioneers of Heavy Metal, particularly of the aforementioned sub-genre Doom Metal. As such, they are considered one of the big four of Doom Metal alongside Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Trouble.

Lead vocalist Bobby Liebling has been referred to as very much the US version of Ozzy Osbourne, with the singer now being a viral sensation due to the GHOUL STARE, opening up the ears and eyes of the general public to what all the Metal Heads already knew about, that PENTAGRAM are one of the longest enduring, influential, GODS OF DOOM!!!
