Leif Vollebekk (CAN) Debut New Zealand Show Announced

Canadian songwriting star Leif Vollebekk is wending his way to Aotearoa New Zealand for the first time ever next month, headlining Tāmaki Makaurau's spacious new Double Whammy. Vollebekk achieved breakout acclaim in 2017 with his third solo album Twin Solitude, earning finalist spots for both the Polaris Prize (Canada's equivalent to the Taite Music Prize) and the Juno Awards. He since achieved a major international hit with his 2020 single 'Long Blue Light' (originally an out take from 2019's New Ways), and is currently reaping praise for his new record Revelation — which is also nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at this year's Juno Awards. Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Leif Vollebekk is a Polaris prize nominated, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter known for his introspective, somber, melancholy pop songs.

Drawing inspiration from the works of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Ginsberg and Bukowski, Leif’s song writing ducks and dives, weaving tales of late night solitude, and his life on the road.
