Watch The Bats' Video For New Single 'Loline'
The Bats have heroically maintained the same lineup unchanged for over four decades — very few groups anywhere in the world could say the same — and now they pedal back into our hearts with 'Loline', the first official single in five years from Robert Scott, Kaye Woodward, Paul Kean and Malcolm Grant. As I clumsily hinted just then, The Bats' new song is an homage to the NZ-made classic bicycle of the same name, an exceedingly catchy echo to fellow Cantabrian Jim Nothing's similarly themed 'Raleigh Arena' from late '23.
Directed / filmed / edited by Martin Sagadin and made with support from NZ On Air, The Bats take their bikes (including a tandem) out for a day trip adventure along Ōtautahi's remarkably flat roadways in the accompanying clip, mixed in with beaut live footage of the group playing on stage at James Hay Theatre. New music from the The Bats is always to be treasured, experience 'Loline' and keep ears peeled for "album number 11 in the pipeline"...
'Loline' is out today on major streaming platforms via Flying Nun Records.
