Pig Destroyer (US) Returning to New Zealand in September
Pig Destroyer are returning to Aotearoa to explode the eardrums of local metal fiends for the first time since 2008, with September headline dates locked in for Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. Originating in Alexandria, Virginia during the late '90s and still sporting founding members J. R. Hayes (Enemy Soil) on vocals and guitarist Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Anal Cunt, Japanese Torture Comedy Hour), Pig Destroyer's commitment to intricately executed aural brutality distinguishes them as one of the preeminent grindcore groups of the past few decades — folding in elements of thrash, sludge, metallic hardcore and noise on such ultra-heavy (both sonically and lyrically) long players as Terrifyer (2004), Phantom Limb (2007), Book Burner (2012) and Head Cage (2018). Finally heading our way following shows across the ditch with Wormrot (who aren't making it to NZ this time around), be sure to bring earplugs and get in the pit for Pig Destroyer at the following dates...
Note: Australian supports Wormrot are not playing with Pig Destroyer for their Aotearoa headline dates...

Press release:
PIG DESTROYER boil metal down to its muscle, sinew, and bone - razor-sharp guitar, percussive pummelling, and a lone, stark howl - and use them to commit a vicious assault. The lyrics paint loathsome, frightening images of pitch-black self-hatred and the frailty of the human experience. These musical manifestations only serve to cement their already legendary status. Having not been in Australia and New Zealand since 2008, PIG DESTROYER’s long overwaited return has just one goal. To unnerve the unprepared with a deranged, grisly intensity which very few, if any, can match.
