Tāmaki Makaurau power-pop / indie-rock songcrafters and stalwarts of our live community, Pocket Money are back with a nine-pack of tunes on their possibly tongue-in-cheek titled new record Comfort, four years following 2021's Silly Salpa. The team of Chris Marshall, Kat Tomacruz and Chris Townsend radiate big-hearted charm and catchy warmth with a notably nervy undercurrent, an energy familiar to those who stroll Auckland's unpredictable city streets during summertime.

Pocket Money encapsulate this topsy-turviness on opening pro-tip mantra 'Go Outside' (sharing a self-help sentiment with Surf Friends) and mind-maze ode 'Anxious Brain', encouraging us to stave off omnipresent doom on 'No Next Time', and rolling around big picture ideas with the shoegazey 'Dunno' — out with a tour video filmed by Iara Gelpi. Elsewhere they find time to celebrate the little things, literally, with the zippy / crunchy 'Bug Find' and 'Buzzy Bee'.
