Lady Shaka Announces Whaea Tāmaki Makaurau Shows with Special Guests

A groundbreaking figure in Aotearoa and global club culture, Lady Shaka has announced her first Aotearoa solo shows since 2022, a momentous occasion that simply cannot be contained to just one single night. The Afro-Pasifika DJ / producer superstar has assembled a mega-stacked lineup of special guests for a double date party at Tāmaki Makaurau's Double Whammy on 21st and 22nd March. They'll be celebrating "the essence of Whaea — a tribute to the inner aunty and uncle in all of us," inclusive ragers bringing together a diversity of dancefloor-igniting styles and sounds.

Founder of Pulotu Underworld — London's first ever Pacific club night — Lady Shaka significantly moved the crowd at Aotearoa's first ever Boiler Room event in 2021, hosted by QTBIPOC+ party revolutionaries FILTH. Recipient of the 2023 Creative New Zealand Arts Culture and Creativity award, Lady Shaka's many achievements also include playing Boiler Room Festival sets in London, Berlin and Naarm, touring across Asia, Australasia, Europe, and the UK, and launching her breakout debut single 'E Tu' last year. In Te Reo Māori, Whaea means aunty, a figure of wisdom, strength, and undeniable groove. This event is for all ages, backgrounds, and vibes.

With a lineup stacked with legendary talent, both nights will be a sonic journey through dancehall, afrobeats, grime, bass, hip-hop, house and many more genres!
