Babe Rainbow Announce New Zealand Album Release Tour + Unveil Single / Video 'Like Cleopatra'

No strangers to Aotearoa's stages, Byron Bay NSW psych-rockers Babe Rainbow have tucker bag full of treats to share with fans this sunny morning. They've announced an expansive Australasian launch tour for their just-revealed, fantastically titled new record Slipper imp and shakaerator — out in full via King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s imprint p(doom) records on 4th April — including a four date tour of Aotearoa New Zealand. "A celebration of all the colours of the Babe Rainbow", the prolifically prismatic collective will toast their sixth studio album in seven years in Pōneke, Tauranga, Raglan and Tāmaki Makaurau this coming April, with special guests to be revealed during the weeks to come.

The cherry on top of today's Babe Rainbow info deluge is new single and video 'Like Cleopatra'. Fizzy funk / boogie, chillwave-adjacent grooves conjure brain-dripping vibrations as the group reflect on nature's splendour — splashing in spring waters and frolicking amongst the greenery in their fun-packed accompanying "rock movie" by Sam Kristofski, co-directed by "Kundalini and the healing colours of the rainbow". "The song reminds us of the natural spring outside Julian [Abbott]’s studio where we’d naturally congregate when the sun was at its zenith early into a day’s recording session. We’d stretch; take coffee and fruit. It’s a sweet spot to enjoy the Nature sprites and spirits. Why is everything so nice? We found our Cleopatra in Camille [Jansen] who kindly sang backing vocals on the album. She has a definite ancient Egyptian aristocratic air to her coolness. Cheers to the rhythm of life".
