Listen To UTR's 2024 End Of Year Playlist

We've made it to the grand finale of 2024 and it's time to unwrap our UTR End Of Year Playlist. Before we dive in, here are some numbers for you: this year's playlist was whittled down from 304 tracks by our traditionally brutal and arcane staff voting system — one tune per Aotearoa artist / act featured on the UTR site in 2024 (we didn't include multiple singles by the same artist). Over the past 12 months we also featured a further 68 releases / acts that were only available on Bandcamp, YouTube or physical media only (not on streaming). As you can see and hear, 2024 turned out to be an incredibly strong year for local music in all styles and shapes. We simply couldn't trim it back to less than 123 tracks, carefully sequenced for your listening adventure by UTR Editor Chris Cudby.

Please note: Spotify's algorithm disproportionately benefits only a small percentage of artists. You can support Aotearoa artists (and venues) directly this summer by seeing them live and purchasing their recordings at your friendly local record shop / over on Bandcamp where available.
