Music First: DJ Spinna (NYC) Auckland Show Announced

Tāmaki Makaurau's Music First tie a ribbon on their first year of immaculately curated international guests with the announcement of NYC's legendary DJ Spinna, gracing the decks at Hollywood Avondale on 7th March. Playing tunes in Aotearoa for the very first tune, the Brooklyn DJ / production king's back catalogue stretches back to the mid-nineties, encompassing deep house, hip-hop, funk, soul and beyond. With nine studio albums and countless compilations / singles / EPs / recording credits to his name thus far, DJ Spinna has remixed such heavyweights as De La Soul, Mary J. Blige and Stevie Wonder, collaborated with Eminem, is a core member of the Polyrhythm Addicts super-collective, and in his early days was half of hip-hop duo the Jigmastas. Music First's resident party facilitators Frank Booker and Samuel Harmony will be there getting the crowd moving — don't delay when general public tickets go live this evening, and "keep the music first"...
