Exploding into Tāmaki Makaurau's venues two decades ago and now happily ensconced in the USA's wild rock 'n' roll underground, Labretta Suede And The Motel 6 are jetting home to toast their 20th anniversary and tour their forthcoming first official new album since 2011's Dirty and Dumb. Don't dare miss these garage-punk-burlesque legends of the stage getting crowds hot and sweaty this summer — starting on New Year's Eve at AUM Festival in South Head, then playing around the motu at the following dates...

20 Years Of Wild-Wild Rock N Roll!!!

Labretta Suede & The Motel 6 are returning to New Zealand with their USA line-up to celebrate 20 years of wigged out, wild-wild, rock n roll with their new album!!

If you’re lucky enough to have seen them you know they are a sensational live show! They have resided in both the USA and NZ at different periods of their career so we’re lucky to have them back for this tour.

These expert fun makers have chosen to release this album back home in Aotearoa FIRST. Beginning the NZ tour by ringin’ in the New Year at Aum Festival on Dec 31st.

‘We need community now more than ever’ Labretta touts & these expert fun makers have put themselves out there to keep creating good times & community world over thru some very trying times.

They relocated back to USA, to the epicenter of covid realness to serve their duty as touring musicians and spread good times. Also, with the mission to work on this very album.

They arrived mid pandemic and have been making waves all thru the USA since they landed. They are a well loved band from Texas, the mid west , New York City to of course, Aotearoa. True underground cult pioneers.

They’ve become ambassadors of NYC’s punk rock stomping ground and have helped facilitated the return of John Holmstrom’s (of Ramones Fame) ‘Punk Magazine’.

Their centerfold image was hot and their performance in the Lower East Side’s ‘Tompkin Square Park’ for the magazines re launch stole the show .

So, delivering this album is a celebration and has been an endurance test to boot. It’s come with great highs and difficult lows. However, this is a band for the people and they have always stayed true to delivering for their fans, despite the hardship it has put them through.
