Big Sur Touring New 'Black Mountain' EP
Tāmaki Makaurau folk collective Big Sur are all set to perform their sonically / thematically rich compositions on tour, taking inspiration from the Celtic legend of Tír na nÓg ('Land of Youth') on their debut four song Black Mountain EP. Soon, we can hear live the pensive brass of 'Sleeping Dogs’, spurring gallops of the percussion section of ‘Lands’, and ballads 'Oisín (Tír na nÓg)' and the closing title track. You can nestle in for an all-ages release party at Auckland’s NiceGoblins HQ next week with Greta O'Leary, Green Grove and Groopchat, while jazz guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Sam White (aka Paulo Santowill) will be the opener for Big Sur’s Lyttelton stopover. There's two more shows along the way, including a koha entry Pearl Diver show in Dunedin and a concluding headline gig in the capital — plus they'll be supporting Sin City at Whammy Bar on 23rd November (grab tickets HERE). Catch Big Sur at the following dates and hit play below...
