“It’s been about, oh, a minute now,” Mild Orange frontman / producer Josh Mehrtens sings in their groovy latest single 'Mood'. Hailing from Ōtepoti and now based in London to better connect with their burgeoning global following, Mild Orange share with fans their first official release since their 2022 album Looking For Space. Guitarist Josh Reid once told UTR in an interview, "geographic location doesn’t mean what it used to." Mehrtens wrote 'Mood' as an uplifting anthem that explores how his newfound cityscape can affect his presence and tranquillity, with the notably relaxed rhythm section further reflecting the calm he strives to feel when practising being present, amidst the constant hustle and bustle. Directed by Rob Thorogood, the accompanying video captures Merhtens bopping along with headphones, filmed at over thirty distinct locations around Greater London.
