Spotlight: toe (Japan) Debut New Zealand Shows
Japanese post-rock ambassadors toe have attracted dedicated fans worldwide for an oeuvre spanning two decades, yet their forthcoming headline performances in Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Whanganui-a-Tara will be the group's Aotearoa debut. Still boasting the same lineup of Hirokazu Yamazaki, Satoshi Yamane, Takaaki Mino, Takashi Kashikura as when they emerged on stages in Tokyo back in 2001, toe unveiled their fourth studio long player NOW I SEE THE LIGHT in July, their first album together in nearly a decade. The new record is a masterful and meticulously executed, primarily instrumental sonic excursion, praised by Everything Is Noise for "the raw authenticity literally every facet of their music radiates at any given moment".
Aficionados of virtuosic, peak-level avant-rock experimentalism will be out in force on 22nd and 23rd Octo(e)ber. This is the time to experience the veteran four-piece live, as toe probably won't be back here anytime soon — brought to you by Bird’s Robe and Valhalla Touring...
