It's officially time to lock in your summer party plans. Tāmaki Makaurau's new Double Whammy! are hosting a New Years Eve-Eve whopper on 30th December, headlined by UK DJ / production maven Dave Lee, formerly known as Joey Negro (he retired that moniker in 2020) and head honcho of Z Records. A leading figure in UK dance from the acid house / rave era onwards, releasing works under a number of names including M-D-Emm and Raven Maize, Lee went on to remix such global superstars as Diana Ross, M People, Crystal Waters, Pet Shop Boys, Take That, Phuture, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Releasing house and disco-influenced works on his own imprint Z Records, including numerous records with The Sunburst Band and as Doug Willis, Lee is also an influential compiler / curator — responsible for crucial no-wave / dance-punk series Disco Not Disco on Strut Records with Sean P, amongst his many achievements. One glance at his massive back catalogue (more than 40 pseudonyms and over 2000 production credits!) will show how much we are only scratching the surface of Lee's kaleidoscopic output, don't miss an extended DJ set by the club legend, with local supports Dice, Tandra and Sweetpants...
