花溪 Flowerstream Announce Debut Aotearoa Tour
Responsible for one of the best local debut releases we've heard in 2024 — April's Flowers Dream EP — 花溪 Flowerstream have at last announced their first ever tour of Aotearoa, after having already performed together in China and Europe. The unpigeonholeable, dream-pop / psych / soundscape project of Huiming Wu on guitar / bass / ghuzheng (Chinese plucked zither) and percussionist / multi-instrumentalist Maxwell Brown will travel to the four main centres, supported by a variety of special guest buds in Pōneke, Ōtautahi, Ōtepoti, and their hometown of Tāmaki Makaurau. Lead single from the new EP 'Air Talk' was an SRN favourite, and while I have no comprehension as to why closer 'Flying Sofa' was not a big hit locally and overseas on (flower) streaming services, I can confidently state these spring shows will be well worth attending.
