Rad Fest Lineup Announced - Creeps Fifth Birthday ft. Displeasure, XRVR, Eli Superflyy + More

All hail the humble independent record store, those heroes of local music culture bringing us the finest wax / physical releases from the best and wildest acts from throughout Aotearoa and beyond. Located in Newtown, Te Whanganui-a-Tara's mighty Creeps Record Parlour are celebrating the milestone that is their fifth birthday with the return of their multi-venue Rad-Fest, hosting a devils dozen acts at hotspots Moon, Recidivist, Book Haven, Opportunity for Animals, Newtown Community Center and the iconic Newtown Sports Bar on 5th October. The lineup of mostly emerging artists indeed looks to be sick as hell and the massive party runs from 4pm til late (if anyone wants to drive me down from Auckland that weekend, feel free to hit me up) — show your support for Creeps and killer music in general by heading along...

We've been sooooo lucky to be here for 5 years now. We'd like to think that we've helped nurture up & coming bands. We reckon lots of these bands and musicians will go on to be the next Vera Ellen's, Hans Puckets, Beastwars, Fat Freddy's Drop, Mermaidens, Dick Move, Black Seeds, Mint Chicks, Die! Die! Wow, 5 years! Yes, we've managed to survive 5 years in the current retail climate. That's because we've built solid regulars who have kept supporting us! Down to the fun stuff. We're putting on another Rad-Fest around Newtown. We're stoked to have some really cool venues in Newtown (Moon, Newtown Sports Bar, Recidivist, Book Haven, Opportunity for Animals and the Newtown Community Center) hosting 13+ bands. Yip, we've been helping towards nuturing the Wellington music scene for a few years now. We've put shows on with young up and coming bands who have mutured into really popular bands throughtout the country. This year, we have selected an exciting range of mostly young bands who we reckon you'll absolutley digg.
