Slamming EBM beats, hoover bass and sprechgesang growls intertwine like mutant DNA with lab experiment imagery run rampant, unearthing strange Cronenbergian beauty amidst the squalid dead zones of Aotearoa's super city.

Playing at Pōneke's GREAT SOUNDS GREAT festival this Saturday, the "sewer-pop" trio are part of the tsunami of talent participating in Exploding Rainbow Orchestra - Songbook Volume Three at their hometown's Hopetoun Alpha, led by bandleader and conductor Joshua Worthington-Church (Princess Chelsea's Dream Warriors, Mammalien). Number one on the 2023 SRN Top 10 chart, Grecco Romank will be contributing a brand new song to be played live by the multi-instrumental ensemble and there's only one way to find out what that will sound like: you must head along...

"The video is a nasty counterpart to the song. We didn't want to romp around like pop divas and to instead just focus on macro body horror and filth. "My interpretation of the song delves into the experience of feeling confined within the limitations of a human body, a flesh suit that can feel both natural and unnatural. This notion of a “human bin” captures a large part of our existence: we are living vessels of both great potential and decay, trapped in a form that controls us. The creature-like silhouettes and bizarre structures I embody reflect the anxiety and discomfort of being human, the desire to escape the ordinary and become something more, something other. Yet, even in this transformation, there remains a lingering filth, a reminder of the grotesque reality we cannot fully shed". - Copper Maesteal
