Leonard Powell Announces Desert Road Dash Shows - Wellington & Palmerston North

Treating our ears to the mellow-toned guitar-pop gold of his debut album Slow Mover earlier this year, Tāmaki Makaurau tunesmith (and RNZ producer / journalist) Leonard Powell is rallying his band for a Desert Road Dash to Te Papaioea and Te Whanganui-a-Tara in late August. Produced and mixed by Tom Broome (Tami Neilson, Home Brew, Aaradhna) over a two year period, when Slow Mover first came out in February we called it "a record of lyrical ease and humour, tight instrumentation and serious comfort", a description still ringing true to this listener today. Pray they stick to the speed limit on those deceptive icy Desert Road bends and walk, don't run, to catch Powell with friends at the following dates...

Tāmaki Makaurau musician Leonard Powell is heading south down State Highway 1 for two shows at the end of August.

Leonard will be accompanied by his band, playing songs from his debut album SLOW MOVER, released earlier this year.

Expect to have a cosy time, plenty of laughs, and a little boogie if you're that way inclined.
