UTR 20th Anniversary - New Merch & Prize Pack Giveaway

We've been keeping this one under our hats until the right time — we're celebrating UnderTheRadar's 20th anniversary this year! Your free nationwide gig guide, independent music news site and locally owned & operated ticketing service is marking this milestone with incredibly stylie new UTR merch designed by Callum Rooney (Ounce), plus a jumbo prize pack giveaway!

Founded in 2004 as a free online community gig guide by Daryl Fincham (Meterman, Sports) when handheld digital devices as we now know them didn't even exist, UTR has expanded in scope and ambition over two decades — including surviving the wild recent lockdown years — to become the award-winning Aotearoa music news website and accessible ticketing platform you know today. Following yesterday's launch of our new web series LIVE MUSIC BAR produced by Sports Team, we now unveil a special new commemorative t-shirt celebrating this mighty achievement, available for preorder in a range of sizes (from S to XXXL) in white on black and black on off-white (see below).

These exclusive tees are only available via preorder from now to 16th August, get yours HERE.

Our UTR 20th Anniversary Prize Pack includes a UTR 20th anniversary t-shirt, hoodie, roving reporter cap, tote and $100 UTR ticket voucher! Get in your entry by 16th August to be in to win HERE.

The list of those we need to thank who've helped us to this point is vast. Huge appreciation to every promotor who has chosen to work with and support UTR over the past 20 years, our crucial local venue community, the people that visit everyday and support local gigs, every artist / label we've featured and worked with for your amazing mahi, all the advertisers for your support, NZ On Air, New Zealand Music Commission, AudioCulture, independent record stores nationwide and the SRN Network (95bFM, Radio One 91FM, Radio Active 88.6FM, Radio Control 99.4FM, RDU 98.5FM) for continuously supporting live music culture in Aotearoa. Special shoutouts to The Wine Cellar who started the same year as UTR and our very first ticketers, Chicks That Scream!

Massive thanks also to our ever-evolving editorial team, trailblazing founding editor Angela Windust, Danielle Street, the amazing assistant and acting editors, gig guide / help desk administrators, and all the UTR contributors — writers, interviewers, photographers, video makers, cartoonists, designers — who've made it such an incredible ride so far.
