Naarm-based metalcore kings Alpha Wolf today thrill Aotearoa fans with news of three massive headline dates in Tāmaki Makaurau, Ōtautahi and Te Whanganui-a-Tara this coming August. Originating in Burnie, Tasmania in 2017, Alpha Wolf's breakout second album A Quiet Place To Die earned the group a global following when unleashed during the pandemic days of 2020, reaping praise from Distorted Sound as "one of the great extreme / hardcore records of recent memory." Alpha Wolf will be here touring their new studio opus Half Living Things, featuring no less than US rap-metal innovator Ice-T (Body Count) on remorselessly brutal lead single 'Sucks 2 Suck'.

They'll be joined for all dates by Invent Animate all the way from Texas, plus local hardstyle heroes XILE — who toured extensively with Alpha Wolf last April in Europe and the UK. Never ones to do anything by halves, ALPHA WOLF have relentlessly sharpened their trademark intensity against the odds over the years, from releasing their critically-acclaimed sophomore album A Quiet Place To Die amid the pandemic in 2020, to releasing a split EP, The Lost & The Longing, with Welsh rockers Holding Absence in 2022, and released their third full-length album Half Living Things in April 2024 which had fans and critics praising it across the globe.

Progressive metalcore quartet INVENT ANIMATE certainly know how to turn heads and melt hearts with their deeply empathetic heavy creations. Deeply connective and laced with fluctuating moments of ambience, intensity and technical immersion, INVENT ANIMATE unveiled their fourth studio album, Heavener, in 2023, self-produced by the band alongside The Plot In You's Landon Tewers and praised for its progressive elements and nuanced complexity.
