Ha The Unclear Announce 'A Kingdom In A Cul-De-Sac' New Zealand Tour
All things come back around, like when making a three point turn in a cul-de-sac. There are as well three regional points to the return of Ha The Unclear, who just spent April in Europe playing their brilliant new record A Kingdom in a Cul-de-sac to lucky Parisians. First formed in Ōtepoti and now living la vie folle in Paris, they'll be bringing their music back home in June with tunes from the career-spanning collection, launched last month via Think Zik. This winter, you’ll get to experience the nuclear energy of Ha The Unclear with songs like their hit single ‘Fish’, plus the blistering distorted guitar solo in their cover of French '80s track ‘C’est Comme Ça’, and jumpy stage rumbler ‘Strangers’. Wellington, you're up first on 8th June, and then please can you share the band with us in Auckland and then Christchurch?
“As we became more of a touring band, we were influenced by how particular songs in the set created better energy and excitement and we started writing and arranging with that in mind a bit more, more frantic instrumentation, more dance-able. That probably also reflects that relational growth. While we still place importance on the role that slower, more introspective songs play within our creative world, I think over time we have created a space for ourselves to blend and move across and between those worlds.”
