Twenty Years Of The Wine Cellar Festival Announced
Aotearoa's live music community would less vibrant and significantly more dull were it not for Tāmaki Makaurau's iconic underground bar and venue The Wine Cellar, founded by Rohan Evans. Championing emerging talents of all kinds since setting up shop below Karangahape Road's St. Kevin's Arcade in 2004 — drop by any weekend to experience songwriting luminaries, post-punk noiseniks, lo-tech synth warriors, freeform soundscape adventurers, bleeding edge electronica artists, top tier jazz instrumentalists and so much more — and a crucial node for nationwide and international touring, it's time to raise a glass in celebration of The Wine Cellar's 20th anniversary.
They've announced It Seemed A Good Idea At The Time - Twenty Years Of The Wine Cellar, a six night festival marking this momentous achievement running from 27th May to 1st June. Lineup details for each night are yet to be revealed, but you can expect they will be very special indeed.
