The Wendys Share Single 'Dropping In' + Announce Summer Tour
We've been enforcing a strict no bare feet in band photos policy here at UTR (seems to be an increasing issue), but it would be nuts not to make an exception for Ōtautahi surf-punks The Wendys. The beach-loitering group grace our sunny Friday with their first new release in three years 'Dropping In', a rowdy lesson in surfing etiquette produced by Ryan Fisherman, launched with the announcement of a summer release tour taking them all around Aotearoa in February. We hope you're wearing your rash vest, because The Wendys have also gifted us a grunty live version of Sexy Animals' 'Up The Bum, No Babies' (penned by David Mulcahy of Superette) to help ram their new single home. Wrapping up their tour at Piha Surf Stomp '24 alongside Cthulus, King Kaiju and Dog Box, go party with The Wendys at the following gigs...

Press release:
It's been two long years since the surf punk quartet released their last single 'Lo Fi Lies', but the band hasn't just been sitting in the lifeguard tower watching the waves. They played a blistering set at Twisted Frequency 2022/23; opened for O.G. U.K. punks, Cockney Rejects; jammed on stage with All Blacks legend Josh Kronfeld in Dunedin; and toured the country multiple times spreading the good word of surf.
This February, the band will once again be taking that message on the road, coming to a sweaty bar or club room near you!
