REPAIRS Unveil Video For 'Map, Territory'
Tāmaki Makaurau's REPAIRS nail a one-two punch with their current SRN hit 'Map, Territory', unveiling today discomforting new visuals for the song created by regular collaborator Kat Waswo (WAZKAT Productions). The noise-punk trio's fractured sonics are paired with sliced 'n' diced, textured footage of bandmates Martin Phillips, Nicola Edwards and James Milne embarking on a cheerful summery bush walk, unsuspectingly strolling into uncharted zones (as can regularly occur in the super city). Vividly coloured flowers take on malignant hues as the video channels the off-the-rails spirit of The Blair Witch Project and Midsommar. Watch REPAIRS' cinematic mini-horror made with support from NZ On Air...
“Listening to the track I could see yellows, blues, and oranges - and then I imagined this story of a flower goddess leading the main characters astray in a forest. I was really keen on creating a dual timeline - one is a story of friends going on a bush walk and nearly getting lost. The other, an abstract montage of clips to complement the story and the light and dark energy in the song.” — Kat Waswo (WAZKAT Productions)
'Map, Territory' is out now on major streaming services.
