Watch Grayson Gilmour's 'Holding Patterns' Television Special
Grayson Gilmour encourages viewers to soak their minds in the audio-visual bubblebath that is his Television Special, bundling together clips from his sonically boundless new album Holding Patterns. Featuring fresh bridging passages between the Pōneke artist's 'Maat Mons', the Finding Dory on acid visuals for 'Day Moon (ft. Sandu Ndu)', 'Did You Make It?' and the title track, the Special packs a tremendous level of carefully considered, yet playful attention to detail within its overall fourteen minute span — snappily assembled into final form by Jesse Taylor Smith. Showcasing the work of directors Smith, Jacob Perkins / RDYSTDY, animator Thomas Williams and artist Bryce Wymer (whose illustrations adorn the cover for Holding Patterns), and made with support from NZ On Air, imagine encountering Gilmour's other-dimensional Special beamed onto your television set between late night infomercials. Launched earlier this month via Flying Nun Records, Gilmour's Holding Patterns album release tour begins this weekend in Ōtautahi — nab tickets and immerse your eyeballs...
"A visual album / companion film of sorts, bringing together all the videos, snippets, out-takes and randomness of the record to date, in Teletext / channel surfing style! Plus some new clips too."
