Wax Chattels Announce Auckland Headline Show w/ Cable Ties
Makers of the most searing sonics to emerge from Flying Nun Records / Captured Tracks in recent times, Tāmaki Makaurau's Wax Chattels are reconvening following two years dormancy for a very strictly limited capacity headline event, happening within the dungeon-like confines of Whammy Backroom. If that's not enough of a drawcard (it should be), the trio of Amanda Cheng, Peter Ruddell (Sulfate) and Tom Leggett will be joined for the occasion by punk rock chums from across the ditch, Naarm's Cable Ties, who unveiled their fourth album All Her Plans in June. The last time I caught Wax Chattels live it was at the Flying Nun 40 Years Anniversary Concert at Auckland Town Hall — a body-hammering, ear-shredding performance. This stacked show will likely sell out in a flash, secure your spot immediately...
