It's been three insane years since Florida death metal pioneers Obituary brought their presciently named Cause Of Death tour to Aotearoa back in 2020, just before the global pandemic ground everything to a halt. Anyone who experienced those skull-crushingly cacophonous events first-hand will be 100% amped to know Obituary are soon making their mighty return — this time treating Ōtautahi's metal masses to their unsparing sonic violence, along with headline dates in Tāmaki Makaurau and Pōneke. During their time away, Obituary released their Slowly We Rot - Live and Rotting collection and 2023's new opus Dying of Everything, the monumentally influential gore-inclined group's eleventh studio album since forming in 1984.
